담보노동이란 가정이 진 빚을 현금이 아닌 아동의 노동으로 대신 갚는 노동형태를 말합니다.

이를 네팔에서는 Kamaiya라고 하고 있습니다.

담보노동은 네팔의 특정한 지역과 특정 카스트 계층에서 많이 이루어 지지만

네팔전역에서 이루어 지고 있는 최악의 형태의 어린이 노동 중 하나 입니다. 

ILO(국제 노동기구)는 이의 근절을 위해 몇년간의 프로젝트를 진행했었습니다.
